There are various mounts on the market, and it doesn’t matter where you buy, however, paying special attention to detail especially how big a Tv it can hold is very important. We have had cases where a person buys a Tv mount that can’t hold a specific weight an the result is catastrophic.
Also, you need to decide if you want a swivel mount or the flat mount. The swivel mounts let you see the TV perfectly, no matter where you are in the room.
Determine the location
The next thing you need to do is determine the location where the mount will be fixed. Before you do that, you need to consider the wiring. If the wires or the cords are not an issue to be concerned with the TV should be at an eye-level when you sit down. However, most people prefer the TV installed at a higher level which can hurt your neck.
Find the studs
The dry walls can hold a small TV, usually 19” or less. Most TVs these days are larger and as a result, they carry a lot of weight. Therefore, you need to make sure that you install the mount on the studs. Usually, the studs are not marked and therefore you need to use the stud finder to locate them.
Attach the mount to the stud
- After locating the studs, hold the mount up to the wall, in the desired location.
- Mark the holes on the mount using a pencil, to the stud.
- Drill some pilot holes into the stud (wall).
- Take your mount and screw it into the wall with the screws it came with.
- Place the level on the mount, if it is not level, adjust the mount appropriately.
Hiding the cords
If you want to hide the cords, you need to cut holes in the wall. First, you have to make sure that the power supply source is near. If not, have an electrician add an outlet. It should be installed right below or above the mount. Using the TV wiring Kit extend the power cord and the HDMI cord through the wall and plug it into the closest outlet. Snaking the wires is not an easy task, however, it has to be done if you want to hide the ugly cords.
Attach the mount to the brackets
The mount should have pieces that will attach to the TV. All this information can be found in the instructions manual that comes with the packaging of the Mounts.
